Bayraktar Kızılelma unmanned combat aircraft is getting closer to taking its first flight, Baykar's chief technology officer Selçuk Bayraktar said.
Coming together with youth as part of Zirve 23, Bayraktar said that the aircraft, which represents the future of battlefield for the country, also Türkiye's first unmanned combat aircraft, is at the final stages of its production.
Attending as a guest to the summit where more than 2,000 university students attended to listen to several influential leaders, Bayraktar addressed to the youth under the title of "revolution".
Starting off by condoling the miners that were killed in the explosion in Bartın, Bayraktar then shared the story of the unmanned aerial vehicles of Baykar.
"If you know what strategy you need to have for the future, if you focus on the future, if you prepare now for 10 years later, if you show the utmost effort, sticking to acting the right way in the road you take, and if you can answer the 'why' correctly, you can be the best in the world," he said.
"Always have faith in this."
"We are progressing towards our 20-year-old dream and goal, Kızılelma unmanned combat vehicle, which is in a sense a peak regarding unmanned aerial vehicles," he said.
"God willing, it is counting the days till its first flight. I can say we are at the last stages of Kızılelma," Bayraktar added.
"It will take its first flight successfully in 2023, god willing. We are also working on Bayraktar TB3 UCAVs deployed on ships," he stressed.
Bayraktar said to the youth "You just need to keep your vision right, your aim and purpose right. If you add to this your determination and patience, it is enough."
