In a statement to the press before the ceremony, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said, "He was not only a legend in music but also a natural character on screens and cinema. He was a valuable talent who served as an example for our artists in the past, present, and future. Unfortunately, it is very challenging to fill the void left by such valuable artists. I extend my condolences to his dear family, fellow artists, and close friends. May he rest in peace."
