In the terrorist attack on TAI on October 23, five people were martyred, including four TAI personnel and one taxi driver.
Following the attack, the phrase "we will work harder, we will produce more" became a slogan. Twenty days after the terrorist attack, the second prototype of HÜRJET met the blue sky.
The names of Zahide Güçlü Ekici, Hasan Hüseyin Canbaz, Atakan Şahin Erdoğan, Cengiz Coşkun, and Murat Arslan, who were martyred in the terrorist attack, were featured on the second prototype.
The HÜRJET jet trainer aircraft, produced with national capabilities by TAI under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industry, was launched in 2017 to meet the needs of the Turkish Air Force. It is a single-engine aircraft with a tandem seat configuration and a modern avionics cockpit.
The HÜRJET, designed to play a critical role by utilizing its superior performance features, is currently undergoing serial production efforts. The first delivery is planned to take place in 2026.
In the statement, TAI General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu emphasized that the project is progressing with solid steps and stated that TAI continues its successes in the sky.
Demiroğlu, expressing great pride in the successful completion of the first flight of the second prototype of the HÜRJET jet trainer aircraft, stated, "The number of our aircraft in our sky homeland will increase."
