Erdoğan is the most influential Muslim leader: US activist
American activist Shaykh Khalid Yasin, known for his work in fighting racism and promoting Islam, praised President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Türkiye as a respected and strong Muslim leader and state. Yasin emphasized the need for the Muslim world to have a leader and state that commands respect and isn't subservient to others. He stated that Türkiye has the resources, discipline, and respect needed for such a role.

American activist Shaykh Khalid Yasin, renowned for his work against racism and his friendship with Muhammad Ali, visited Istanbul to deliver a lecture upon the invitation of the Istanbul Science and Culture Foundation.
During his visit, Yasin emphasized the need for the Muslim world to have a strong, respected leader who proudly declares their Muslim identity. Yasin expressed his admiration for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stating that Turkey has the qualities required, such as discipline, resources, and respect. He praised President Erdoğan for being outspoken and showing that Turkey is proud of its Muslim identity.
Shaykh Khalid Yasin also shared his insights on Malcolm X, describing him as an influential figure in the last four months of his life and a catalyst for many, including himself, to discover and convert to Islam. He discussed the transformation of Malcolm X's life after his pilgrimage to Mecca, emphasizing his discipline, focus, and deep thinking.
Regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Yasin noted that it is an ongoing issue and stated that it will not be resolved until Al-Aqsa Mosque is returned to the rightful custodians. He expressed his disapproval of the occupation of Palestine and the entry into the Masjid al-Aqsa, emphasizing that it is against the principles of justice.
Shaykh Khalid Yasin also highlighted the awakening of the Muslim world and the importance of Muslims returning to their faith, obedience, the Quran, and the behavior of the Prophet Muhammad. He believes that this return to faith and piety will result in more people loving and respecting Muslims and will restore their dignity.
