In the footage allegedly showing an Israeli flag being raised on the beach in the north of the blockaded Gaza Strip, a captivating and controversial scene unfolds. An image that purportedly captured this event was published in various Israeli press outlets, igniting heated debates both domestically and internationally.

The video showcases Israeli soldiers proudly hoisting their nation's flag against the backdrop of crashing waves and sandy shores, while jubilantly singing their national anthem.

Amidst this display of patriotism, the commander leading these troops addresses his unit in a resolute speech delivered in Hebrew. In what could be perceived as a provocative statement, he claims that Gaza, once Palestinian land, rightfully belongs to Israel.

"After two thousand years of exile, we have reclaimed the ports and beaches of Gaza. Despite being expelled from this land two decades ago, we are resolute in completing our mission. Israel's aspiration is perpetual, aligning with our own. We stand on the soil that symbolizes a 2,000-year loss, and we hold our heads high, with no intention of lingering. Our fight is for the people of Israel, for the land of Israel. This is our rightful territory," the commander said in a statement.

Israel
withdrew from the Gaza Strip in 2005, ending its direct occupation that began in the Six-Day War of 1967. Following the electoral victory of Hamas, the Gaza Strip faced an Israeli blockade in 2006.
