A rocket launched from southern Lebanon fell on Saturday evening in the illegal Israeli settlement of Benjamin, near the occupied West Bank city of Jerusalem, sparking fires, the Israeli army said.

Firefighting crews are currently working to extinguish the flames, it added.

This is the first time since last October that the Israeli army reported a rocket launch from southern Lebanon towards the Jerusalem area.

The Benjamin settlement is approximately 17 kilometers from downtown Jerusalem.
