South Korea's presidential office on Friday called on North Korea to stop "unnecessary slander" and move forward together for peace on the Korean Peninsula, according to South Korean media reports.
The remarks were in response to comments by Kim Yo Jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who criticised President Lee Jae Myung a day earlier for what she described as "double-dealing" remarks over the scaling back of U.S.-South Korea military drills.
